We spend most of our time in or around water: diving, paddling, swimming, talking to customers, testing gear. The ocean is more than just a backdrop for our work; it’s the place where our business, our lifestyle, and our passion meet. And like anyone who pays attention, we’ve seen the changes. More plastic on remote beaches. Warmer waters in places that used to be cold. Coral reefs struggling. It’s not always dramatic, but it’s there and we care.
We don’t have all the answers, and we’re not perfect. But we do believe that companies like ours, rooted in watersports, gear, and outdoor life, have a role to play. Not by shouting, but by acting.
We’re a small team, so our steps are practical and close to home. Here’s what we’re already doing:
We carefully select the brands in our portfolio. Not just for their quality, but for how they make their products. We value transparency, repairability, smart materials, and packaging that makes sense. We ask questions, and we choose partners who also want to do things better.
From shipping to storage, we try to avoid excess. We reuse boxes, limit printing, and only produce what we think will be used. We don’t chase volume, we prefer meaningful, long-term use over fast sales.
We support initiatives, locally and internationally, that work to clean and protect marine environments. Sometimes that means donations, sometimes practical help, sometimes simply shining a light on the good work others are doing.
Plastic is part of our industry, but we’re looking for ways to reduce it where possible. We’re also investigating a local initiative in Haarlem to recycle collected plastic and give it a second life in our own community, through usable, water-related products.
We’re not making big promises, but we are working step by step on the following:
And maybe most importantly: keeping it real, approachable, and doable. No lofty claims, just a clear direction.
We’re in this because we love water. And we know our customers, dealers, and partners feel the same. Whether it’s a quiet lake, a rough coastline, or a favorite dive site, we all have a place we care about. Taking care of the ocean isn’t just a trend or a marketing angle. It’s part of keeping this lifestyle, and this industry, alive and meaningful.
Our promise is simple: to keep moving in the right direction. To stay curious, to keep learning, and to work with people who want to build something more sustainable — together.
Because the ocean gives us so much. It’s only fair we give something back. And water connects us all.
